Abigail Kampmann, CEO
Abigail Kampmann is the CEO and cultural architect of Principle Automotive. A licensed attorney and graduate of Duke, SMU Law, and NYU's Tax Law program, she began her career in estate law before entering automotive retail to carry on her family legacy. Her grandfather, Charles Urschel, Jr., opened a Volkswagen distributorship in 1957 and her father, Jack Guenther, opened their first retail store in 1965.
Abigail led Porsche of San Antonio to become the world's first LEED Certified Gold Porsche dealership, achieving growth in revenue, customer satisfaction and staff. In 2014, she founded Principle Automotive, blending elite performance with a people-first philosophy.
She serves on boards including the Texas Biomedical Research Institute and Remember the Alamo Foundation. Having served on the Board of United Way of Bexar County, she leads their annual campaign for her market. Her leadership style-rooted in lifelong learning and conscious capitalism-has shaped Principle Automotive into a company known for integrity, innovation, and meaningful relationships.
Ryan Sessums, COO
A graduate of the University of South Florida, Ryan Sessums brings over 25 years of financial and operational leadership in the automotive industry. He joined Principle Automotive in November 2024 and quickly became a driving force behind operational alignment, efficiency, and performance across all rooftops.
Prior to joining Principle, Ryan spent 19 years with AutoNation, where he most recently served as Director of Finance Operations for Non-Franchised Businesses. In that role, he oversaw financial operations for 24 AutoNation USA stores, 51 Collision Centers, and 4 Auto Auctions. He played a pivotal role in the restart and rapid expansion of the AutoNation USA store network in 2022, ultimately leading the opening of 13 new ground-up locations in just over two years.
Ryan's career spans finance leadership roles across prestigious brands including Lexus, Mercedes-Benz, Cadillac, Ford, and Nissan in the Florida market. His deep expertise in both franchised and independent retail operations has made him a versatile and strategic leader.
As Chief Operating Officer at Principle Automotive, Ryan is known for his data-driven, collaborative approach to leadership. He plays a critical role in scaling systems, elevating guest experience, and driving sustainable growth across the organization.
